NEW Maybelline Volum' Express Rocket Mascara

Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Mascara
£7.99

As I'm the kinda girl who is always on the look out for a new mascara this one caught my eye!
I love packaging and I feel guilty admitting that I will pass up a great mascara if it didn't have a fancy tube, eeek!
This looked gorgeous and as soon as I saw it I was drawn to it, I already knew I would buy it.

I previously reviewed the Colossal Smokey eyes mascara by Maybelline here and thought I had found my new go-to mascara (In fact I have already repurchased it) but, I'm always up for new loves in my life.

I was curious about the brush on this as I wasn't sure if it would have the same Colossal brush but the packet looked more like the MaxFactor/CoverGirl 24hr Mascara, which yes, when taken out of the packing ... it's very similar.

I've always preferred my mascara wands to have natural bristles, so I was ever so slightly disappointed to see stubby little combs on the wand.

So here I had only curled my eyelashes with a simple H&M eyelash curler and put on some black eyeliner on my lid.

Sorry about the awkward face, it's a by-product of a long day at work

So judge for yourself. It's VERY dramatic, much more than the colossal range.
I feel my eyelashes are kind of spidey legged but I'm okay with that, where as I know not all of you will love that!

I can't wait to give this more of a go and for it to maybe dry out a bit and see if it's any different.

with so much love

Juicy Couture La La Perfume Review!

You may have seen my earlier post about this perfume and how excited I was to get it thinking I'd have to wait AGES, however, it is now all mine!!

When I first saw the bottle it was almost like love at first sight, the juice is a rose pink and it's decorated with a beautiful necklace and a backwards bow, the jewels are all silver but there is a small pink diamanté in there, there is so much detail to make this bottle beautiful.

The scent is meant to be effortlessly classy and glamorous  which actually, at first spray, it was a dud. It smelt like DKNY Be Delicious (i dislike DKNY no matter what) and I'm not too sure why you would want a lingering stench of apple but hey, that's just me. So I was like "oh.." and actually a little sad.
I wanted to love it, I loved everything else it was offering just not the smell.
I tried it on and luckily the apple peace's out pretty soon on me, then it dries down to a floral musky almost vanilla smell, but not a sweet vanilla. I'm terrible at describing scents, sorry!

I kept wondering what that smell was and then I smelt my wrists and it was me!
Yay! I was in love with it!!

This is like nothing I've had before.
I like Britney Spears and Taylor Swift perfumes and this is nothing like them.

My boyfriend commented and said "don't take this the wrong way, but it smells mature, not grandma mature but like, classy" and he loves it!

So really I think that goes to show, it does what it promises.

I would wear this to dinner or to nice daytime events. I'm not sure it's fun enough for work and for sure not for a night out, I might just keep this for when the time calls for it.

I would so recommend giving this a chance, it's gorgeous inside and out!

This is possibly not your typical winter outfit, but this is my personal style of what I would wear to a winter semi casual event where you don't want a big poofy dress but you don't feel it's an occasion where you'd wear flats.
I would of course team this with some tight leggings!

How do you like it?
Have you made one? link me, I wanna see!

Maybelline Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara

Maybelline is one of my most trusted brands I've come to realise.
I never thought too much about Maybelline and it's products, but then I realised the foundations I've loved and swore by for the last 5 years have all been Maybelline. My first mascara was the Great Lash mascara and I've repurchased that about, oh I don't know, a million times in my day?!

But as I started earning my own money and working amongst other brands I branched out and tried Yves Saint Laurent mascara, L'oreal and also found a new favourite and settled for a while with Boujouis Glamour mascara!
Unhappy about having to pay £11 every 2 months for my Boujouis Glamour fix, I really just had an urge to try this one.
I remember it coming out when I was younger and my friends sister had the orignial one. She said how great it was but when I compared the price (roughly £9 when I was paying £4.99 for my great lash) I never ever thought I would be able to afford it, aw youth.

So since this one is meant to be all dark and smoky, I thought i'd give it a try!

The wand is a natural bristle brush which i feel is good if you already have quite full lashes, it just helps to give it that extra oomph.

so here i did a swatch of the Colossal Smoky eyes on the left and Maybellines other popular mascara Falsies on the right to see if it was any darker or smoky.
Judge yourselves, i think it's pretty the same though...
(by the way I really dislike falsies :( )

My eye with nothing on my lashes at all.

Here I curled my eyelashes for 9 seconds with just a cheapy H&M eyelash curler

With a few coats of Maybelline Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara!

I'm quite a fan, I really like the look it gives my lashes.
I do feel it doesn't hold a curl so much and it would be a good idea to take the tube out and about with you and throughout the day just top up a bit here and there, but that's something I can live with.
I feel that for me, this is good every day, at night I could use darker colours and make it more smoky but for daytime it's just dramatic enough.
The last time I went out for a meal with friends I went to put my false lashes on and then realised that with this mascara I don't feel I need any, so I put them down and just went out with this on!
Plus people have been asking if I have falsies on anyway, result!

I really recommend this mascara, I believe its £7.99 and you will find it anywhere there is a Maybelline stand!

Go run, go, quick go get it!
Have you tried this?
What is your favorite mascara??

Yummy Yankee Candles!

So I'd love to start by saying how it's Christmas so that means the sickenly sweet Yankee candles come out, but really it's all year for me.
I'm the kinda girl who wears Britney Spears Fantasy in summer, I'm not ashamed to leave a cloud of cotton candy where ever I go - even in 40 degree heat!

I see where it comes from though.
The foodie scents are comforting, like that smell on a cold winter day where you bake tasty warm treats as it's cold outside and you're snowed in.
I may have gone a bit day-dreamy there (In my mind I'm also baking in a sweet cottage, dream!)

I'm not completely bonkers though! I would never ever burn the Christmas Cookie candle any other time than December, that would be just shocking and so wrong, some things do need to be sacred.

I have asked for a big jar of the Christmas Cookie from my mummy and I'm torn, do I burn it that evening or save it for the next year?
(I know I'll end up burning it)

Red velvet doesn't really need to be a seasonal candle, it smells like Vanilla Frosting which Asda do all year round for £1 so that's my default Yankee, so I'm not sure if I will repurchase, but it was recommended by beauty gurus Eleventh Gorgeous, so I had to give it a whirl!

I so recommend any of these candles, Christmas Cookie is Clinton Cards scent of the month (of course!) at the moment so you can pick it up for 25% off & actually, it's the one I recommend the most!

Yankee candles are a tad pricey but if you're a fan of a good candle in the evening then to me, Yankee is the only way to go.
You can get food smells in other brands much cheaper, but to me they don't smell right, they're always missing something or do not smell like what they're meant to be, however Yankee get it right every time!

One day I might step away from the foodie candles and onto something else.......

... hahaha sorry that was such a funny joke.

I will so continue to buy food scents which smell like cake, sweets and sugar just like I will forever wear Fantasy in summer.

If it's not broken, don't fix it!

What is your favourite Yankee Candle?
I would love to try more!

xoxo

Soap And Glory Best Of All Gift Set

Gather round Soap and Glory fans, this is the ultimate treat! Priced at £60 it would be quite the splurge, the items alone tot up to £69, however, I didn't pay £60, nowhere near.
This will set you back.... £27!!!
Yes, take a moment, how good is that?
This is boots offer of the week, and wow is it the best one yet.
I love love love Soap and Glory body care. The scent, the packaging, it's spot on.
I'll now tell you what comes inside...

Clean On Me RRP £5.50
This I think is their top seller, its a creamy moisturising body wash. The scent is their original fragrance which is what got them pretty well known, it's yummy!
The bottle is 500ml and has a handy pump so you'll never waste any as it only dispenses what you need. Oh perfect.

Sugar Crush RRP £8
This is what got me the most excited, I love their new smell of Lime and Sugar. It's in their new body wash of the same name and I just love it. This is a body exfoliater which not going to lie, I don't need at the moment as I have my Soap & Glory Flake Away on the go, but hey, it's scrummy and I can't wait to try it!

The Righteous Butter RRP £10.50
This again is one of their best sellers, it was featured on How To Look Good Naked a few years ago and sold pretty smoothly  Personally I've had a few of these in the past, ones I've bought myself then been given as gifts etc and I never finish them, I'm quite lazy and hardly moisturise after a bath so they get used for a few days then the novelty wears off and they get forgotten, sad! It smells like Clean On Me but much stronger, so I think thats also why I don't get on with it, a bit overpowering for me, but when I have used it it's proven to be a great product!

Hand Food RRP £5
Oooh, hand cream isn't in my routine, I have quite soft hands which people compliment me on and I'm scared if i get my hands used to hand cream they'll stop doing their thing and rely on the cream! But in the past I've used this and its the only one i will use is i ever need to. It smells lovely and has marshmallow in. Oh yummy, try not to eat it, you'll want to.

Smoothie Star £10
This is a body milk so it's not as thick as the butter so I'd probably use this more, it smells sickly sweet but I kind of like that! I've not tried this one before as I think its quite new but I really love the packaging on this one! Again its the pump so it's clean and simple!

Heel Genius £5.50
This smells nothing like S&G have done before, it's got menthol in and you can really tell! I'm not one for foot creams, do you put socks on over it? do you just not go anywhere till its soaked in? if you do wear socks will the cream wash out or will they be ruined?
Too many questions for me to use this product confidently, haha!

Peaches and Clean £7
The only facial skin care there is in the pack! I adore the name, it's super cute. I could have thought of a better facial skincare product as last year they put in wipes which are always handy! But I love trying out new things!

Sexy Mother Pucker £9
A sexy hot pink plumping lipgloss! The colour is in Punch Bowl and smells like chocolate, oh yum!
This has a plumping action so you feel it tingling and it makes you all pouty!
This is their top selling make up item so no wonder they put it in there!

Thick & Fast £10
This mascara has a HUGE brush, it's quite scary, I would imagine it would be "thick and fast" as i bet you only need a few sweeps over your lashes and they'll be done!
Perfect if you're short on time! I wish the tube was cuter, but hey ho!

It also comes with some coupons for S&G in the new year such as extra points when you spend £10 (like you'll run out by march when they expire) or money off certain products.
You get given both a Pound side of coupons and a Euro side so I'm going to make good use and find someone to mail the Euro side to, seems a waste for me to just chuck them!

So wow, for £27, who thinks its worth it??

What I'm going to do is give a few of these as gifts, splitting it up is such value for money and I even get to keep a few, is that naughty??

This is on offer till next Friday so Thursday 20th is the last day you can buy it, but honestly, it'll be gone by then. It's already sold out on the website and it just went on offer this morning! If you see it in your boots don't leave thinking you'll buy it in a few days, I've seen worse offers run out.

Who's going to be buying this?
I'm off to have a pink retro gorgeous bath
love love love

A real man.

My niece was unfortunately born with a Father who didn't really want to stick around. My sister became a single parent after her boyfriend left her when she was 7 months pregnant, my niece has been raised by my sister with a lot of help from my mum as they both live at home.

Since she’s only seen her father a handful of times when she was a couple months old, she does not know him at all, and in a household where even the cats are female, she doesn't have a male role in her life which is where I believe my boyfriend Adam comes in.
This is a photo I just found tucked away on my computer of my niece Molly and my boyfriend Adam. He is the most gentle, kind hearted man I have ever met. Adam is the only male she has seen every day of her life, I hope with him around she won’t really care about her dad. I didn’t see too much of my dad growing up, but my Grandad stepped in and gave me a strong, kind, male role model to look up to & I never really cared that my dad couldn't be there for me as I never felt like I missed anything you know? So I know that it can be done. I believe as long as you have someone who shows you not everyone's the same, then you’ll be okay. I'm hoping just by Molly seeing that there are men like Adam in the world that she can trust and will love her then she’ll be fine.

I thought this was such a sweet photo & I cannot believe it wasn't one of my favourites already.

I’m not saying Adam is a step in dad by any means, he’s only 20 for crying out loud & there is also my brother in law who proved to be there for me a lot growing up which I'm sure he would do the same for Molly too!
Molly and Adam at the park

Just chilling!

Molly Hooked herself an Adam!

So I just wanted to write this post as it's something i've never quite addressed and to thank Adam for being the man he is, as if dealing with me isn't tough enough, but dealing with my crazy family and all the babies who insist on dribbling on him and never ever once complaining.
Thank you for giving Molly all the strong warm cuddles she hadn't got from her dad and for knowing just how to turn her crying into happy giggles.
You are a real man.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter

The body shop isn't usually somewhere I go into, personally it's a lot of money. A body moisturiser for over £10 isn't the one. My favourite moisturiser is Palmers cocoa butter which is about £5 and it smells divine as I'm sure you all know, so I usually just go for that.

However, after my operation i felt a little worse for wear, so I ordered some feel better items, I'd had my eye on this strawberry hand sanitiser for a while and since I had a 40% off coupon I felt it a perfect time to indulge.

I'd also wanted this yummy strawberry butter for a while too, when I do go into The Body Shop the strawberry section has this gravitational pull on me, but as I said, it was over £10... nuhno usually - but with my coupon I believe it was about £7, yay!

The delivery took for-bloody-ever, like 5 days when I paid £2.99 (it went down to £1.99 the day after, hmmm...) but alas, it arrived and I was as happy as a clam covered in butter!

It's a little greasy so I can't use it on my hands as it drives me craaaazy but on elbows and knees i'm sure it will do just fine, plus, it smells like strawberry sweeties. Yummy Yum Yum!!!

What's your favourite Body Shop smell??

The Half Blood Prince... Or Princess!

Sqweeee! I hope that's not bad to say, you know the Harry Potter reference because that's the last thing I want, I love the Royals! I love Prince William and I love that he married someone so cute at Kate, oh just look at them will you, they're the sweetest.

I was so unbelievably happy to find out there is a royal bun in ones oven! I do feel bad for Kate though, morning sickness like hers must have been just the worst start to a pregnancy and then for everyone to find out when you're not ready, I couldn't imagine how annoyed and upset you'd be.
But in true Royal fashion, she rocked the hell out of it and even LEFT hospital today looking like this:

for real, she was born to be a princess.

After my operation last week I left looking like this:

...big difference.

Anyway, I am so excited, I really want her to have a little girl, how cute would that be!
Congratulations to them, they seem like such lovely people, they deserve a great pregnancy and happy times!!

also...
you go Willy, you pimppppp!

Are you excited? Aren't they so sweet?
xoxo
