New Impulse Rock N' Love!

Wow it's been a while since my last post!
In between all the exams of last year, working this summer, getting stuff together for uni and then getting swept away in the uni lifestyle, i will admit i've let this blog gather a few cobwebs!
So here I am blowing the metaphorical dust away (in a cute little pinnie and bandana i'd like to imagine) and opening with a review!
I was lucky enough to be sent a brand new Impulse fragrance to try a few weeks ago! Actually it was before I moved to uni, woopsie! BUT, at least this means I've given it a good chance to wow me eh?
*love a good excuse*

Anyway, I've previously spoke about how much I LOVE 'Sweet Smile' so of course I was super excited to try this new one!
I really think Impulse has seriously stepped up their game with their products lately right down to the gorgeous packaging.
I'm terrible at describing scents for someone that worked on a fragrance counter, but Impulse describes this as Amber and Orange Blossom, I can't comment on the orange but the amber is definitely there and it makes this scent so warm and do you know what, one of my guy friends described it as sexy, well I'm not going to hate on that!
Now, I'm sorry guys, but as summer is officially over it's goodbye to warm days out but that means hello to cosy nights in bars with a trusty leather jacket, platform boots and vampy lipstick and let me tell you this scent fits in perfectly.

I actually chucked it in my bag and that's where it's stayed for the last few weeks and it's so perfect to pull out of my bag on a night out and have a refreshing break from smelling like spilt vodka redbull.
In all seriousness, I totally love this scent and will so buy it again when it runs out !
Thank you Impulse for letting me try this out! I'm in love!

What about you?
Have you tried this?

With Love

J'adore Juicy Couture

Oh hello gorgeous, how're you? It's been ages! Apologies, I have no excuse, I've just been lazy!
It's a brand new year!! How about that eh?

Anyway, I'm here to speak (ahem type) about my little Juicy stash I've got going on.
I love Juicy Couture as a brand, i think it's fun, cute, girlie and glamorous  It's affordable but still a little luxury!
Pink and gold are my FAVOURITE and I mean the best of the best colours ever! They go so well together which is maybe also why I love Juicy so much.

Starting with the fragrances we have;

Viva La Juicy La Fleur

This is my newest addition to my collection! It's much like the original but different enough that it's worth having. It's more floral and a perfect day time scent, it's almost as fancy as daisy, which although nice, not a sexy, romantic party fragrance, just... nice, and hey, I like that.
I splurged this on... my boots points so I got it free!

RRP £47 for 50ml

Viva La Juicy
For me this is a must have! This bottle is almost 2 years old and I got it for my 20th birthday which is also the day my boyfriend asked me out, aw shucks! So this holds nice memories for us both, every time I spray this on we both look at each other and once he smells it he smiles which is super sweet! This smells edible and caramelly and yummy and ooooh, go smell it if you haven't already, I loves it!
RRP £63 100ml

Couture Couture
When I was young I had a Barbie perfume and yes, it was delicious and if I remembered what the bottle looked like or whatever I would try and hunt it down and buy any last drop I can find, it was to die for, I was so the best smelling child on the playground that year. I tell you this as when I first smelt this, I instantly remembered that fragrance it took me back so to speak! So I actually call this my barbie perfume! I was so happy when my boyfriend saw this in Debenhams for half price in a giftset! It's quite heavy and a real show stopper, perfect for a Juicy girl then right?
RRP £47 50ml

Viva La Juicy Rollerball
My first Juicy fragrance! I got these in a set of three from work, I had never smelt any before and we got them in without testers so I couldn't smell them, but when they were half price after Christmas I snatched them up on a whim! I automatic loved Viva La Juicy and I think I gave away Juicy Couture original and Couture Couture is in my going out bag i think :)

Couture La La
ooh la la mademoiselle, je suis en amour! The newest little lady in their line! I reviewed this here and I am so in love, it's gorgeous, as much as I love pink and gold, the silver is gorgeous too, perfect everything!
RRP 50ml £47

In front I have my jewellery from my "amoureux" Adam! I was very lucky and got them for our one year anniversary! Lucky Lucky girl!

*drools* they're so pretty, I don't wear them too much but I love them dearly!

and at the back I have a Juicy Couture Make Up bag which comes FREE with any purchase of Juicy Couture Fragrance 50ml or above at Boots right now!

I'm not usually a free gift fan but THAT I had to have, it looks expensive *blush*

SO that is that!
I was about to say, can Juicy Couture do anything wrong? Then I remembered about Peace, Love and Juicy Couture *giggles*
Ooop sorry!

Do you like Juicy Fragrances?
What's your favourite??

Maybelline Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara

Maybelline is one of my most trusted brands I've come to realise.
I never thought too much about Maybelline and it's products, but then I realised the foundations I've loved and swore by for the last 5 years have all been Maybelline. My first mascara was the Great Lash mascara and I've repurchased that about, oh I don't know, a million times in my day?!

But as I started earning my own money and working amongst other brands I branched out and tried Yves Saint Laurent mascara, L'oreal and also found a new favourite and settled for a while with Boujouis Glamour mascara!
Unhappy about having to pay £11 every 2 months for my Boujouis Glamour fix, I really just had an urge to try this one.
I remember it coming out when I was younger and my friends sister had the orignial one. She said how great it was but when I compared the price (roughly £9 when I was paying £4.99 for my great lash) I never ever thought I would be able to afford it, aw youth.

So since this one is meant to be all dark and smoky, I thought i'd give it a try!

The wand is a natural bristle brush which i feel is good if you already have quite full lashes, it just helps to give it that extra oomph.

so here i did a swatch of the Colossal Smoky eyes on the left and Maybellines other popular mascara Falsies on the right to see if it was any darker or smoky.
Judge yourselves, i think it's pretty the same though...
(by the way I really dislike falsies :( )

My eye with nothing on my lashes at all.

Here I curled my eyelashes for 9 seconds with just a cheapy H&M eyelash curler

With a few coats of Maybelline Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara!

I'm quite a fan, I really like the look it gives my lashes.
I do feel it doesn't hold a curl so much and it would be a good idea to take the tube out and about with you and throughout the day just top up a bit here and there, but that's something I can live with.
I feel that for me, this is good every day, at night I could use darker colours and make it more smoky but for daytime it's just dramatic enough.
The last time I went out for a meal with friends I went to put my false lashes on and then realised that with this mascara I don't feel I need any, so I put them down and just went out with this on!
Plus people have been asking if I have falsies on anyway, result!

I really recommend this mascara, I believe its £7.99 and you will find it anywhere there is a Maybelline stand!

Go run, go, quick go get it!
Have you tried this?
What is your favorite mascara??

Soap And Glory Best Of All Gift Set

Gather round Soap and Glory fans, this is the ultimate treat! Priced at £60 it would be quite the splurge, the items alone tot up to £69, however, I didn't pay £60, nowhere near.
This will set you back.... £27!!!
Yes, take a moment, how good is that?
This is boots offer of the week, and wow is it the best one yet.
I love love love Soap and Glory body care. The scent, the packaging, it's spot on.
I'll now tell you what comes inside...

Clean On Me RRP £5.50
This I think is their top seller, its a creamy moisturising body wash. The scent is their original fragrance which is what got them pretty well known, it's yummy!
The bottle is 500ml and has a handy pump so you'll never waste any as it only dispenses what you need. Oh perfect.

Sugar Crush RRP £8
This is what got me the most excited, I love their new smell of Lime and Sugar. It's in their new body wash of the same name and I just love it. This is a body exfoliater which not going to lie, I don't need at the moment as I have my Soap & Glory Flake Away on the go, but hey, it's scrummy and I can't wait to try it!

The Righteous Butter RRP £10.50
This again is one of their best sellers, it was featured on How To Look Good Naked a few years ago and sold pretty smoothly  Personally I've had a few of these in the past, ones I've bought myself then been given as gifts etc and I never finish them, I'm quite lazy and hardly moisturise after a bath so they get used for a few days then the novelty wears off and they get forgotten, sad! It smells like Clean On Me but much stronger, so I think thats also why I don't get on with it, a bit overpowering for me, but when I have used it it's proven to be a great product!

Hand Food RRP £5
Oooh, hand cream isn't in my routine, I have quite soft hands which people compliment me on and I'm scared if i get my hands used to hand cream they'll stop doing their thing and rely on the cream! But in the past I've used this and its the only one i will use is i ever need to. It smells lovely and has marshmallow in. Oh yummy, try not to eat it, you'll want to.

Smoothie Star £10
This is a body milk so it's not as thick as the butter so I'd probably use this more, it smells sickly sweet but I kind of like that! I've not tried this one before as I think its quite new but I really love the packaging on this one! Again its the pump so it's clean and simple!

Heel Genius £5.50
This smells nothing like S&G have done before, it's got menthol in and you can really tell! I'm not one for foot creams, do you put socks on over it? do you just not go anywhere till its soaked in? if you do wear socks will the cream wash out or will they be ruined?
Too many questions for me to use this product confidently, haha!

Peaches and Clean £7
The only facial skin care there is in the pack! I adore the name, it's super cute. I could have thought of a better facial skincare product as last year they put in wipes which are always handy! But I love trying out new things!

Sexy Mother Pucker £9
A sexy hot pink plumping lipgloss! The colour is in Punch Bowl and smells like chocolate, oh yum!
This has a plumping action so you feel it tingling and it makes you all pouty!
This is their top selling make up item so no wonder they put it in there!

Thick & Fast £10
This mascara has a HUGE brush, it's quite scary, I would imagine it would be "thick and fast" as i bet you only need a few sweeps over your lashes and they'll be done!
Perfect if you're short on time! I wish the tube was cuter, but hey ho!

It also comes with some coupons for S&G in the new year such as extra points when you spend £10 (like you'll run out by march when they expire) or money off certain products.
You get given both a Pound side of coupons and a Euro side so I'm going to make good use and find someone to mail the Euro side to, seems a waste for me to just chuck them!

So wow, for £27, who thinks its worth it??

What I'm going to do is give a few of these as gifts, splitting it up is such value for money and I even get to keep a few, is that naughty??

This is on offer till next Friday so Thursday 20th is the last day you can buy it, but honestly, it'll be gone by then. It's already sold out on the website and it just went on offer this morning! If you see it in your boots don't leave thinking you'll buy it in a few days, I've seen worse offers run out.

Who's going to be buying this?
I'm off to have a pink retro gorgeous bath

Models Own Mirror Ball Collection

Hi everyone!! I am so excited to be writing this as I fell in love with this collection from the word GLITTER!!
Models Own has quickly become one of my favourite nail varnish brands, they're so fun and different! I recently been seeing a lot about these being in high demand so when I saw them, they were mine!!
I used to wear glitter all year round but recently it feels too wintery and christmasy so i've been sticking to block colours, but now it's coat weather, the glitter is back, and what better glitter than colourful chunky glitter - amazing.
Disco Ingerno, a gold glitter with green specks, Christmas Party nails!

Freak Out! Blue toned chunky glitter, ice skating in Hyde park nails!!

Boogie Nights! My new years eve nails!

Hot Stuff, who needs a reason, it's amazing nails!

So I think i will need to do a base colour underneath these, like maybe a gold colour anyway as its quite see through, but i think once I do that this will look so cute!

I found the best way to cover is to literally blob the chunks on then when it goes dry on top but still wet underweight (do you know what I mean?) I press the glitter down so it flattens it!

This just would not cover!!! It looks so sloppy haha!
Oh gosh, best till last!! its soooo pretty!!!

Unfortunatly i went swimming after when I thought they were dry and ... they weren't so the glitter just broke off one nail at a time, boo!
I'm going to try these again when I have a bit more time and i'm not so excited as i believe thats the reason they didn't work so well!!

I really think these will fly off the shelves, they're so cute and feel christmasy that they sell themselves!!

What do you think? Have you tried these yet??? Do you think you'll be getting them?
xoxo

in love!!!

No7 Perfect Match made foundation thingy ma jig!

Hellooo there!! I've been meaning to write about this forever! I learnt about this magic machine back in April but could not say anything so I'm so excited to tell everyone who maybe does not know!
No7 is a brand from Boots stores, it's their top selling cosmetics and has won so many prizes, you may have heard of their protect & perfect serum (which is amazing) which sold out minutes after it's launch!

This clever machine claims to match your natural skin tone to one of the No7 Foundation colours, and oh boy does it!
So this is the machine in question! I was told it's a device... not a machine. Righto, it's still a machine though, device sounds like a probe!!
It's so simple to use, once calibrated you take off a small area of foundation (if you're wearing any) and simply place the camera part over your skin, take a picture and repeat with the other side, then it will give you an average colour!
You know it's a good match as they use a traffic light system, Green will appear if its perfect, yellow if it's a good match and red to basically say No! Try again! Ha!

So my sister was dying to get measured so whilst out shopping we popped into Boots and just asked for the service, she was sat down, & actually I wasn't too happy with the Consultants manner and knowledge of the products but boots are usually really good so don't take that as be all end all!
She was matched up and given the right shade and sent away happy with her correct shade because I had a £5 No7 off voucher, woo!
The consultant measured her but as she went to find the colour I made her take a photo haha!
could not resist a pose, what are we like?!

Anyway, I myself got measured when I was went to a whole day about it and I even got given a full size bottle to take away with me of my perfect colour!

So I got given the stay perfect range, which isn't actually my favourite, I would have picked either the Beautifully Matte or the Lift and Luminate which is meant for over 40's but is just such a gorgeous coverage! This however is supposed to last the day, which to me it doesn't but maybe it does last longer than others, I'm not too sure as mine never tend to last!
I got matched to Cool Vanilla, personally I would have preferred Warm Vanilla as this is the second palest and I do like something a bit warmer. I was given the option of taking home the one I preferred, but for reviewing the machine purposes, I wanted to go with the one it recommended!
The things I do for you people ;)

Hey ho, photo of the bottle.

it's soooo paleee *cries*

Naughty me, testing it on my hand, don't shout at me, we all do it! I mainly do it for constancy and to pre-test it almost! This is quite a runny liquid but as you rub it in it does go creamier, I would so suggest putting this on with fingers as it's just too runny for a sponge or brush!

So here i am putting it on my face lalala it's going to be pale theres no way this will ma-

Oh holey moley the thing bloody works, how does that match my skin!?!? Well I'll be dammed!

Yes, apparently I am the second from palest after all. It takes a bit of getting used to wearing your natural shade cause thats what this is all about. Natural! After a few uses I agree that this suits me, however, I would still prefer the warmer one. Why? Just because :(

If you're interested in this service, it's free!!!!!
Go into Boots and just ask "Hi i've heard about this foundation match, Is someone able to measure my skin please?" and before you know it you'll be sitting in that chair being amazed at how you lived without it.
If you're worried that they'll give you a natural colour that you think is a bit pale, i'm sure they'll be fine finding a warmer shade for you. I've done that myself no worries, they understand that you want something to give you a bit more colour. Don't be afraid to ask!!

So there is that wonderful thing, want to know something even more cool? No7 has it exclusive for a whole year, so maybe next year other counters will have it but for now, if you wanna experience it, Boots is the only place which to me, is pretty fancy!

Let me know if you've been matched! What did you think?!
Love

this was not sponsored at all, I work for No7 but I am always completely honest just as i am with my customers! I would never say something was amazing when it's not and I did not get paid for writing this, although who thinks I should!!? haha xo
